Our Mounting Hardware line is a low cost alternative for the discriminating buyer. Most parts are die-cast in Zinc which is both harder and denser than aluminum. This is better for optical systems because it lowers the resonant frequency of the parts for greater performance and provides a more durable part. After casting the components are machined to remove any burrs or casting marks from the critical surfaces and holes are drilled and tapped where required. The part is then black oxided for a durable anti-reflective finish.
